Quite Time and the Moon

I have always loved the moon.  There's just something so pretty and mysterious about it.  It changes every day and is always lovely regardless of the phase it's in.  The photo above was taken this morning, just before sunrise.

When I take photos of the moon, it is typically very quiet, as I'm either up very late or very early.  I do not sleep very much, so I'm actually a night owl and an early bird.  Last one to bed at night and the first one up every day.

I do enjoy the quietness and stillness of the early mornings and late nights.  Most of the time, I'm out there watching the moon after all the neighborhood dogs have gone to sleep or before the rush of the day begins.  Sometimes I can hear the coyotes howling in the distance or a train steadily moving down the tracks.  But mostly I hear the sounds of peace.  Something we all need in our lives every day.  Sweet, precious peace.  Nothing can replace it.

Do you also enjoy looking at the moon?

From gorgeous full moons...
...to the tiniest crescents, I love them all.

A very short post today, but I hope you all enjoy it anyway.   Wishing you all good health, happiness and peace!

Long Time Since I Posted Here

It has been such a long time since I last posted here.  I had planned for this to be my main blog, but life doesn't always work out the way we plan.  I have focused a lot of my time on collecting dolls and spending time with my granddaughter and on face book.  Seems like most of my blogger friends have gone to face book.

Once upon a time, I had a message board and lots of friends from the HGTV site. We got to know one another through our love of primitive-country, colonial and farmhouse decorating.  When they closed down the message boards there, I created one for us.  That was more than 15 years ago.  I'm happy to say that most of us are still friends today.  But a couple of our special group has since passed away.  Now we have a private group on face book so that we can still chat and keep in touch.

One of these special friends sent me the two wooden signs in the above photo.  She knows I love sheep themed items.  She is such a sweet, giving person.  Jenn, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

My affection for sheep is because Jesus is the Lamb of God.  I always think of Him when I see sheep or baby lambs.

I have a small collection of sheep.  Here are a few of them.

I made the mama and baby on the middle shelf years ago.

The two resin sheep were given to me by a dear friend who passed away a couple of years ago.  The paper tag was a gift from another friend and the tiny punchneedle pin keep on the top left is one I made.

I bought this lamp from Goodwill several years ago and repainted it and decoupaged the sheep artwork to it.  I burned the edges of the paper to make it look old.  The paper tag hanging from the lamp shade was made by gluing the artwork to a tag that had been grunged.

A more recent addition is this wonderful plaster sheep, bought from a crafty friend.

And a closer look at the wooden signs my sweet friend gave me.

These simple items bring me joy and peace when I look at them.  They also remind me of people I care about.  Such sweet blessings.

Even the little things should not be taken for granted these days, considering the coronavirus spreading devastation, fear and death.  May God have mercy on this world and bring an end to this deadly virus.

I wish you all peace and good health during this difficult time of uncertainty.

Peace at Home

Life can be so hectic and stressful.  I have not worked outside the home in several years, but partake in the every day facets of home keeping.  It keeps me quite busy, but once in a blue moon, I actually get all the work done and have one precious day that I do not have to leave the house.   These are the most peaceful times.

I love being with my family and being needed and useful.  I love my life.  The blessings God gives are endless.  I'm thankful for all of them, and also for the precious times of peace.  We all need to find ways to have a little peace every day.  When you can have an entire day of peace, it's a rare gift, an amazing blessing.  Use it wisely, but most of all, enjoy it.

Wishing you all the blessings of peace at home.
